Madisonville is turning 1 years old!
Come celebrate with us
Sheesh, where does the time go!
We should give a little reflection here, but before we go into that, we will spit out the details.
We are turning 1 years old on the weekend on June 23-25, however June 25 is the big celebration day.
We will be celebrating the shop, the community, the staff, the ups, the downs, and the beauty we brought to life on this little street tucked away in this beautiful neighborhood.
Plus, we will have French Toast on the menu (JUNE 25TH). You should bring your family and come eat & drink with us.
June 23 & 24 we are hosting our dinner series with an extra special menu. Click below to make a reservation for dinner.
Cheers!
Madisonville Turns 1
1 year old, already? Wow! Where does the time go?
We took some time to reminisce on the past these past few years, and it feels a bit surreal. We’ve made it 4 years in Camp Washington & now 1 full year in Madisonville. Some people will be surprised, but coming from a small business owner(s), the struggle can be real sometimes, and we are always so amazed to see how far not only this new shop has come, but our journey, our story, our team, and our lives!
In 2019, if you asked us if we would ever open a second location in Cincy, we probably would have said no. Maybe too much on our plate at the time? Then fast forward to 2020, in the midst of Covid, we somehow thought to ourselves maybe a second location was the calling? Maybe going through the rollercoaster of the global pandemic, and surviving it made us come out on the other end thinking that life is too short for a missed opportunity? After all, how would we ever know unless we tried it!
Through the beginning days at Mom ’n ‘em in Camp Washington, we have built a very beautiful and strong community. Regulars coming in from not only our small (but mighty) community of Camp Washington, but Clifton, Northside, College Hill, Walnut Hills, south, north, west, east, folks were coming from all over. We always got the repeating question of “when are you going to open on the east side?”
My brother and I would always chuckle, thinking to ourselves, we just don’t see it happening. It was already tough getting Camp Washington open (took us nearly 5 years), so why in the heck would we go through that again? But, we also saw the other end, where we could build another strong community on another side of town, that is somewhat untouched. We always pointed our finger towards Madisonville (if we ever would open a second location) for several different reasons, and when the opportunity arisen and a space became available we immediately walked it, and felt the chills.
Mom ’n ‘em needed to bring the life into what the city would consider a condemned space.
We also asked the community, and they believed in us, and told us it would be a wonderful opportunity. We jumped on it, and we haven’t looked back since.
Madisonville has been such a joy for us. Our little corner of businesses together on Whetsel & Bramble are all something special, and we are so happy to be part of what makes this community what it is today.
And last but not least, we want to thank each and every one of you for helping us along the way! Not only this past year, but from the beginning. We would not be here if it was not for each and every one of you that believed in us. And of course, Mom. Thanks for inspiring us to follow our hearts & chase our dreams. We love you to the moon & back!
See you all June 25th to celebrate!
Love,
Mom ’n ‘em
