When we notice this coffee on an offer list from one of our importing partners we immediately jumped at the rare opportunity to bring this coffee to everyone in Cincinnati. Colin, our head roaster, enjoyed this coffee years and years ago when it was roasted by Madcap, and to this day is one of the closest coffees to his heart. It was such a special coffee back in the day, and was very formative for his coffee career. An eye opener through and through!

Her farm, El Encinal, sits in a valley within Quindio, Colombia with the Los Arrayanes river at the bottom. Raised & covered drying patios give this coffee plenty of time to slow down and dry evenly. The quality & passion Amparo has for this coffee shines through clear as day!

This is a classic washed caturra from Amparo; wicked sweetness, with a more refined acid structure akin to a meyer lemon, with some gentle stone fruit/peach fuzz aspects tickling through the palate. The finish lingers and develops into this gentle black tea tone. Oof!

This coffee thrives with age.. Give it about a week or so (after the roast date) to rest before brewing! It will get better and better with time. ❣️
