Ingredients
100% First Harvest Ceremonial Grade Matcha from Japan.
Care & Storage
Matcha: Matcha is happiest when kept cool, dark, and tightly sealed. Store in an airtight container away from heat, sunlight, moisture, and strong odors. For the best flavor and freshness, keep refrigerated after opening and let the matcha come to room temperature before opening the container to help prevent condensation. Enjoy within a few weeks of opening for the brightest flavor.
Whisk: Before each use, soak the whisk in warm water for a minute or two to soften the bamboo tines. After use, rinse with warm water only (no soap) and let it air dry fully, tines facing down if you have a whisk holder. Store in a dry place to keep your whisk in great shape for many bowls to come.
Additional Details
What does First Harvest mean? First harvest, also called first flush, is the first picking of tea leaves in early spring after the tea plants' winter dormancy. These young, tender leaves are prized for their vibrant color, fresh flavor, natural sweetness, and smooth texture.
What is Ceremonial Grade? Ceremonial grade generally refers to matcha made from high-quality, young tea leaves that are carefully harvested and traditionally stone-milled into a fine powder. Our matcha is hand-plucked, stone-milled, and air-freighted from Japan to preserve its freshness and character. The result is a bright green matcha with a smooth, clean finish.
How much caffeine is in the matcha? You can expect roughly 60 milligrams of caffeine in about 2 grams of matcha. To compare, it is like drinking a little over a half a cup of brewed coffee.
How to make matcha with your whisk:
1. Soak your whisk in warm water for a minute or two.
2. Scoop 1 tsp / 3 g of matcha into a bowl.
3. Add 60 g / 2 oz of water at 170°F.
4. Whisk briskly in a zigzag "M" or "W" motion (not circles) until bubbly and frothy.
5. Enjoy as is, or top with your favorite milk for a latte!
Origin: Kagoshima, Kyoto & Shizuoka, Japan.
